Your first image with 3DKLYN

Personal beta 1.34.27 · Build 97. Windows and 3ds Max 2025. Personal, non-commercial testing only. No 3DKLYN registration or activation.

Install once

  1. Download the MZP from the official website. Compare its SHA-256 with the checksum obtained from that website. The MZP is unsigned; a checksum supplied only beside an untrusted copy does not prove who published it.
  2. Save your work. Open a fresh 3ds Max session, choose Scripting → Run Script and select the MZP. Read the Personal Beta Terms, then click Install beta.
  3. Choose whether to add the toolbar button. The plugin opens after installation. Later use that button or Open-KLYN-Beta.ms in this version's installation folder; you do not need to drop the MZP into Max on every launch.

The public beta installs separately under %LOCALAPPDATA%/3DKLYN.PersonalBeta. Settings, encrypted keys, logs and outputs stay in its UserData folder. Stable and previous review builds are not migrated or overwritten.

Connect a provider

Click API. Choose a provider, enter your own key and save it. Provider access, balance and model pricing are controlled by that provider. Requests are billed directly by the provider. Saving a key does not start a generation. Encrypted key storage is optional and tied to the current Windows account.

For local generation, install ComfyUI separately. Set its Server URL in API → ComfyUI. Download the chosen model into the intended ComfyUI folder. Review the model's separate licence, including its encoders and VAE. The plugin can start a recognized local Python or portable installation; use ComfyUI Desktop's own launcher where required.

Generate, inspect and save

  1. Choose Image file → Choose image, a camera viewport or a completed render.
  2. Select Provider and AI Model. Describe a change and click Generate.
  3. Inspect the result with Before / After, Fit and zoom. Click Save to export it. History retains the plugin's output copy.

AI can change geometry, materials, faces and small details. Compare the entire output with your source. The returned image or video does not edit your 3D scene.

Enhance runs local SeedVR2 restoration through your ComfyUI. Install its separate weights when prompted, select the output size and click Enhance. Your source is kept. Enhancement may change fine details.

Workflows and video

SDXL and the supplied Klein, Qwen-Image 2.1 and Z-Image profiles have built-in image workflows. The ComfyUI server still needs their required model files and core nodes. Custom workflow (JSON) accepts your API-format graph with %PROMPT% and %INPUT_IMAGE% placeholders; it is not a downloadable model.

Video uses your selected cloud provider and key. Choose a source image, model and supported settings, then Generate video. Play the returned clip, inspect it and use Save as… to export. Some features, models and options remain experimental.

Cancel or retry

Use the plugin's Cancel control for the current task. Wait for its status before retrying. Cancellation may not undo a provider charge. Queued requests are separate; adding to the image queue does not submit them until you start it. Waiting image jobs are kept only for the current session.

If ComfyUI is stopped, use Start ComfyUI or open it on your PC, wait until it is ready, then retry. If a model is missing, use Download. For insufficient video memory, reduce the image size, close other GPU tasks or use a model that fits your hardware. A connection check alone does not prove a model can generate.

Updates and removal

Updates are manual from 3dklyn.com. This beta does not download or run an updater automatically. Save your work and restart Max before loading a different build. Keep the exact original MZP if you need to remove its version. Remove this beta removes that version's application files and keeps UserData. Unknown files stop removal so they can be preserved.

Model Remove moves eligible local model files to the Windows Recycle Bin after confirmation; shared catalog components are kept. Emptying the bin is a separate action. Do not remove models during generation.
